LOG 215 Supply Chain Management

Lecture: 3 Lab: 0 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3
This course covers all activities involved in the flow of products and information between the suppliers, customers, producers, and service providers. Topics include acquiring, purchasing, manufacturing, assembling, and distributing goods and services throughout the supply chain organizations. Upon completion, students should be able to identify the supply chain units, describe the materials management processes, and prepare for the APICS CPIM examination.

Pre-requisite(s): LOG 110.  
Course is typically offered in Spring.
Course has transfer restrictions - 10 years

Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:

  1. Incorporate the demand and supply planning processes into a business working individually and in a team environment.
  2. Construct demand forecasts using different methodologies.
  3. Complete inventory calculations for push and pull demand models.
  4. Demonstrate quality management techniques used to evaluate operational processes.
  5. Use a variety of production process layouts.
