PTA 255 PTA Clinical IV

This course provides the opportunity to gain clinical experience and apply academic skills and knowledge to patient care. Emphasis is placed on performing patient care skills, observation and measurement, and professional and patient interaction. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate safe and effective clinical practice as measured by a standardized performance evaluation.

Pre-requisite(s): PTA 225.
Course is typically offered in Fall, Spring, and Summer.
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:

Practice physical therapy data collection and interventions in a safe, effective, legal, and ethical manner.
Demonstrate respectful interactions with patients/clients and other healthcare workers. 3. Demonstrate communication and documentation in ways that are congruent with situational needs.
Assess the need for modification to the plan of care established by the physical therapist.
Demonstrate effective education of others using relevant and effective teaching methods.
Support activities addressing quality of service delivery.
Maximize resources such as time, space, equipment and finances.
