COS 272 Instructor Practicum I

Lecture: 0 Lab: 21 Clinic: 0 Credits: 7
This course covers supervisory and instructional skills for teaching entry-level cosmetology students in a laboratory setting. Topics include demonstrations of services, supervision, and entry-level student assessment. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate salon services and instruct and objectively assess the entry-level student.

Pre-requisite(s): Current N.C. Cosmetology License.
Co-requisite(s): COS 271 
Course is typically offered in Fall.

At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:

  1. Examine classroom management skills used in entry-level cosmetology laboratory setting.
  2. Demonstrate applicable salon services to entry-level cosmetology students.
  3. Assess entry-level student performance in a salon setting.
