AUB 162 Autobody Estimating Lecture: 1 Lab: 2 Clinic: 0 Credits: 2 This course provides a comprehensive study of autobody estimating. Topics include collision damage analysis, industry regulations, flat-rate and estimated time, and collision estimating manuals. Upon completion, students should be able to prepare and interpret a damage report.
Pre-requisite(s): TRN 110 Course is typically offered in Spring. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, students should be able to demonstrate competency in the following skills according to NATEF standards through written format or hands on performance.
- Demonstrate P-Page procedures.
- Interpret VIN codes.
- Demonstrate parts breakdown list.
- Identify the included and not included operations for labor and paint labor rates.
- Determine the included and not included operations for labor and paint labor rates.
- Calculate paint times, paint time deductions and clear coat times when applicable.
- Write a complete estimate.
- Complete a computerized repair estimate.
