AUT 151A Brakes Systems Lab Lecture: 0 Lab: 3 Clinic: 0 Credits: 1 This course is an optional lab to be used as an alternative to co-op placement in meeting the NATEF standards for total hours. Topics include drum and disc brakes involving hydraulic, vacuum-boost, hydra-boost, electrically powered boost, and anti-lock, parking brake systems and emerging brake systems technologies. Upon completion, students should be able to diagnose, service, and repair various automotive braking systems.
Co-requisite(s): AUT 151 . Course is typically offered in various semesters. Check with the department for your particular credentialing option. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:
- Diagnose possible concerns in brake systems.
- Service NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) concerns in brake systems.
- Repair ABS system malfunctions.
