AUT 213 Automotive Servicing 2 Lecture: 1 Lab: 3 Clinic: 0 Credits: 2 This course is a lab used as an alternative to co-op placement. Emphasis is placed on shop operations, troubleshooting, testing, adjusting, repairing, and replacing components using appropriate test equipment and service information. Upon completion, students should be able to perform a variety of automotive repairs using proper service procedures and to operate appropriate equipment.
Pre-requisite(s): AUT 113 . Course is typically offered in various semesters. Check with the department for your particular credentialing option. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:
- Retrieve scan data from an OBDII vehicle to determine the necessary action for repair.
- Diagnose a power-train control module problem in an OBDII vehicle.
- Evaluate manufacturer service information to repair a problem with a vehicle’s OBDII power-train control module.
- Evaluate diagnostic equipment to determine a fault with a vehicle’s HVAC system.
- Diagnose a mechanical fault with a vehicle’s engine.
- Locate a problem in a vehicle’s electrical system.
- Diagnose a problem in a vehicle’s cooling system.
- Perform a vehicle multi-point service check.
