AVI 230 Airframe Maintenance III Lecture: 4 Lab: 9 Clinic: 0 Credits: 7 In this final course of the airframe series, the emphasis is on systems and components, culminating with the airframe inspection portion of the course. In addition to the inspection aspects, instrument, cabin environmental control, fire protection, and ice and rain control systems are covered. The student should be prepared to take the applicable portions of the written, oral, and practical examination for the airframe rating on the FAA mechanic’s certificate.
Pre-requisite(s): AVI 110 . Course is typically offered in Fall and Spring. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:
- Student shall perform and explain inspections, checks, perform service instrument systems to a level 2 standard given the required tools and equipment.
- Student shall perform and explain inspections, checks, perform service on cabin atmosphere systems to a level 2 standard given the required tools and equipment.
- Student shall perform and explain inspections, checks, perform service ice and rain systems to a level 2 standard given the required tools and equipment.
- Student shall perform and explain inspections, checks, perform fire protection systems to a level 2 standard given the required tools and equipment.
- Perform airframe conformity and airworthiness inspections to a level 3 standard.
