CAR 115 Residential Planning/Estimating Lecture: 3 Lab: 0 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3 This course covers project planning, management, and estimating for residential or light commercial buildings. Topics include planning and scheduling, interpretation of working drawings and specifications, estimating practices, and other related topics. Upon completion, students should be able to perform quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
Pre-requisite(s): BPR 130 . Course is typically offered in Spring and Summer. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:
- Estimate material quantities for small jobs.
- Schedule delivery of materials in the proper sequence.
- Schedule subs at proper times.
- Prepare time schedule for a small job.
- Develop and submit a quote for a small job.
