ARC 211 Light Construction Technology Lecture: 1 Lab: 6 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3 This course covers working drawings for light construction. Topics include plans, elevations, sections, and details; schedules; and other related topics. Upon completion, students should be able to prepare a set of working drawings which are within accepted architectural standards.
Pre-requisite(s): C or better in ARC 111 , ARC 112 , ARC 113 and ARC 114 . Co-requisite(s): ARC 221 . Course is typically offered in Fall (when offered) Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:
- Identify the relationship between the architect, owner and the general contractor.
- Prepare a partial set of architectural drawings in accordance with the IBC for North Carolina.
- Analyze contract documentations as they relate to an architectural project.
- Apply standard drafting methods to a small architectural project.
- Develop architectural sections and details articulating standard construction methods.
- Apply the requirements specified by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to a small architectural project.
- Apply the principles of stair design to a small architectural project.
