WLD 262 Inspection & Testing Lecture: 2 Lab: 2 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3 This course introduces destructive and non-destructive testing methods. Emphasis is placed on safety, types and methods of testing, and the use of testing equipment and materials. Upon completion, students should be able to understand and/or perform a variety of destructive and non-destructive testing processes.
Pre-requisite(s): WLD 112 and WLD 121 Course is typically offered in Spring. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:
- Apply welding codes and standards per industry application.
- Assess manually and automatically produced parts for acceptance criteria in accordance with industry codes.
- Describe non-destructive weld testing methods.
- Perform non-destructive tests in accordance with industry code.
- Perform destructive tests in accordance with industry code.
