FRE 112 Elementary French II Lecture: 3 Lab: 0 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3 This course is a continuation of FRE 111 focusing on the fundamental elements of the French language within a cultural context. Emphasis is placed on the progressive development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Upon completion, students should be able to comprehend and respond with increasing proficiency to spoken and written French and demonstrate further cultural awareness. This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA as a general education course in Humanities/Fine Arts.

Pre-requisite(s): FRE 111 with a C or better Course is typically offered in Spring Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following, with 60% accuracy (for programs) or 70% accuracy (for college transfer):
- Read short paragraphs in French.
- Identify different aspects of the Francophone world.
- Evaluate short texts and initiate social interactions in French independently.
- Relate information on familiar topics in French using the past, present, and future tenses.
- Examine and explain short audio/video prompts.
- Compose paragraphs/short reflections, independently, on familiar topics in the target language using information received in class or acquired through personal research.
