AHR 255 Indoor Air Quality Lecture: 1 Lab: 2 Clinic: 0 Credits: 2 This course is a comprehensive study of air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration system diagnostics and corrective measures. Topics include advanced system analysis, measurement of operating efficiency, and inspection and correction of all major system components. Upon completion, students should be able to restore a residential or commercial AHR system so that it operates at or near manufacturers’ specifications.
Pre-requisite(s): Take AHR 110 Course is typically offered in Fall. Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At completion of the course, the student should be able to do the following:
- Implement strategies to resolve IAQ issues that affect structure and human health.
- Explain the importance of maintaining proper airflow.
- Describe how natural and mechanical ventilation can impact IAQ.
- Analyze the effects of psychometrics on equipment, structures, and human comfort.
- Evaluate the impact of relative humidity levels on indoor air quality.
