DRA 130 Acting I Lecture: 0 Lab: 6 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3 This course provides an applied study of the actor’s craft. Topics include role analysis, training the voice, and body concentration, discipline, and self-evaluation. Upon completion, students should be able to explore their creativity in an acting ensemble.
This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA as a premajor and/or elective course requirement.

Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At completion of the course, the student should be able to do the following:
- Identify the basic principles of acting.
- Utilize methods from the Stanislavsky System in the creation of a character.
- Analyze scripts for mapping into “objectives” and “beats”.
- Develop Vocal and Physical technique for acting in live theater.
- Perform a scene within the context of a professional production rehearsal schedule.
