DRA 130 Acting I

This course provides an applied study of the actor’s craft. Topics include role analysis, training the voice, and body concentration, discipline, and self-evaluation. Upon completion, students should be able to explore their creativity in an acting ensemble.

At completion of the course, the student should be able to do the following:

Identify the basic principles of acting.
Utilize methods from the Stanislavsky System in the creation of a character.
Analyze scripts for mapping into “objectives” and “beats”.
Develop Vocal and Physical technique for acting in live theater.
Perform a scene within the context of a professional production rehearsal schedule.
