DRA 170 Play Production I Lecture: 0 Lab: 9 Clinic: 0 Credits: 3 This course provides an applied laboratory study of the processes involved in the production of a play. Topics include fundamental practices, principles, and techniques associated with producing plays of various periods and styles. Upon completion, students should be able to participate in an assigned position with a college theatre production.
This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA as a premajor and/or elective course requirement.

Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At completion of the course, the student should be able to do the following:
- Analyze plays’ specific production needs and requirements.
- Engage in a design or creative role for a fully realized stage production.
- Employ management practices to particular assigned backstage roles, maintaining well-managed rehearsals, performances, and strike.
- Solve production problems as they arise.
- Demonstrate effective work in an artistic team environment.
