ATR 114 Machine Reliability Lecture: 0 Lab: 2 Clinic: 0 Credits: 1 This course introduces concepts of ensuring machine reliability in a manufacturing environment. Emphasis is placed on describing preventive, predictive, corrective maintenance and their significant differences; analyzing proactive maintenance and the underlying tools, integral operations, and procedures; and identifying various individual system units and the steps in evaluating failure mode risks and countermeasures. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate lean machine reliability concepts in a lab/manufacturing environment.
Course is typically offered in Spring Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) At completion of the course, the student should be able to do the following:
- Explain the difference between corrective, preventive, and proactive maintenance.
- Describe the associated tools and processes used for proactive maintenance.
- Develop countermeasures through evaluating failure modes and problem root causes of a system.
