ATR 210 Introduction to Industry 4.0 Lecture: 0 Lab: 2 Credits: 1
This course provides an overview of Industry 4.0 concepts with a particular emphasis on manufacturing technology and how it will affect industry operations in the future including maintenance, production, and logistics. Topics include autonomous robots, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, the industrial internet of things (IIOT) and other evolving technologies. Upon completion, students should be able to identify Industry 4.0 topics, discuss what they involve and describe how they will impact the manufacturing industry in the future.
Course is typically offered in Spring Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
- Describe the evolution of Industry 4.0 and its nine major elements.
- State how Industry 4.0 will affect maintenance operations.
- Explain how Condition Based Monitoring can be enhanced using Industry 4.0 tools.
- Explain and show how data analysis is visualized.
- Explain how to do risk mitigation using data and big data analytics.
