HIT 214 OP Procedure Coding/Reporting

This course covers application of coding and reporting standards as they apply to Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) guidelines and principles. Emphasis is placed on application of the coding guidelines, in relation to anatomy and physiology, for ambulatory healthcare settings. Upon completion, students should be able to assign CPT/HCPCS procedural codes according to official guidelines and evaluate compliance with regulatory requirements and reimbursement methodologies. Pre-requisite(s): HIT 211
