Collision Repair & Refinishing Technology Diploma


The Collision Repair & Refinishing Technology diploma curriculum provides training in the use of equipment and materials of the autobody repair trade. The student studies the construction of the automobile body and techniques for autobody repairing and refinishing.

Course work will include autobody fundamentals, industry overview, and safety. Students will perform structural and non-structural repairs using MIG welding, plastics and adhesives, and a variety of paints and finishes.

Successful graduates can qualify for employment in a variety of jobs such as full-service collision repair technicians with franchised independent garages, dealerships, race teams, truck companies, glass shops, boat shops, or may seek self-employment.

Program Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of the Collision Repair & Refinishing diploma, the graduate should be able to:

  • Comply with industry safety practices. 

  • Perform vehicle refinish repairs. 

  • Perform nonstructural analysis and repairs. 

  • Perform structural analysis and repairs. 

  • Perform collision related mechanical repairs.
