The Medical Coding Diploma prepares individuals for employment as a certified medical coder. This diploma is designed for individuals with previous work experience or degrees in a non-healthcare related field. Upon completion of this program, students can sit for AAPC’s Certified Professional Coder (CPC®) exam.

Graduates are prepared for positions, in medical and dental offices, that focus on billing, coding, and insurance.

Program Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of the Medical Billing & Coding diploma , the graduate should be able to:

  • Communicate orally and in writing with patients and other office personnel.
  • Use medical terminology and vocabulary effectively.
  • Code in a medical office or other outpatient facility.
  • Code in a hospital or other inpatient facility.
