Guided Entry Program Preparation - Physical Therapist Assistant (1+1)

The Associate in Arts (AA) degree is designed for students planning to transfer to a four-year institution or pursue further academic study. Students complete a broad general education curriculum that fulfills the requirements of the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA).

Students who intend to apply to selective or limited admission programs at Guilford Technical Community College may declare a Guided Entry Preparation Area while completing prerequisite coursework.

These preparation areas allow advisors to track student progress toward program admission requirements.

Important:
Guided Entry Preparation Areas are not separate from academic programs or credentials. Students remain enrolled in the Associate in Arts degree while preparing to apply to selective admission programs.

Students who do not apply to or qualify for admission within one year will remain enrolled in the Associate in Arts degree without a preparation designation.

Students interested in applying to the Physical Therapist Assistant (1+1) program should consult with their Guided Entry advisors to determine the appropriate preparatory general education coursework. The course sequence below is recommended for most students seeking admission to the Physical Therapist Assistant (1+1) program.
