AUB 136 Plastics and Adhesives

This course covers safety, plastic and adhesive identification, and the various repair methods of automotive plastic components. Topics include safety, identification, preparation, material selection, and the various repair procedures including refinishing. Upon completion, students should be able to identify, remove, repair, and/or replace automotive plastic components in accordance with industry standards.

Pre-requisite(s): AUB 121 and TRN 110.
Course is typically offered in Spring.

At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:

Determine the repairability of various types of plastics.
Perform adhesive repairs.
Perform plastic welds.
Perform tab repairs.
Demonstrate plastic refinish procedures.
