COS 274 Instructor Practicum II

Lecture: 0 Lab: 21 Clinic: 0 Credits: 7
This course is designed to develop supervisory and instructional skills for teaching advanced cosmetology students in a laboratory setting. Topics include practical demonstrations, supervision, and advanced student assessment. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate competence in the areas covered by the Instructor Licensing Examination and meet program completion requirements.

Pre-requisite(s): N.C. Cosmetology License along with COS 271  and COS 272 .
Co-requisite(s): COS 273 .
Course is typically offered in Spring.
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:

  1. Examine classroom management skills used in advanced-level cosmetology laboratory setting.
  2. Demonstrate applicable salon services to advanced-level cosmetology students.
  3. Provide constructive feedback to advanced-level cosmetology students.
  4. Assess advanced-level student performance in a salon setting.
