Lecture: 0 Lab: 3 Clinic: 0 Credits: 1
This course covers the application of multi-axis machining using machining centers with multi-axis capabilities. Emphasis is placed on generation of machining center input with a CAM system and setup of pallet changer and rotary system for multi-axis machining fixtures. Upon completion, students should be able to convert CAD to output for multi-axis machining centers, including tooling, setup, and debugging processes.

Pre-requisite(s): MAC 141 , MAC 141A , MAC 142  and MAC 142A .
Co-requisite(s): MAC 234 .
Course is typically offered in Spring.
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
At the completion of the course, the students should be able to do the following:

  1. Demonstrate tool setup on a four axis rotary machine.
  2. Demonstrate work offsets on a four axis rotary machine.
  3. Create a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) program from a blueprint.
  4. Demonstrate tool setup on a five axis machining center.
